This functionality is available only when Geospatial Portal operates in 3D mode.The DTM (Digital Terrain Model) from ERDAS APOLLO Catalog can be displayed in Geospatial Portal as a texture (flat map) or as a terrain. You can Search ERDAS APOLLO Catalog for suitable items containing height maps using the “DTM” keyword.
Once you have found and added the ERDAS APOLLO DTM to the Map Content, you can change the display mode using the context menu for selected layer (this is active only in 3D mode).
To display ERDAS APOLLO DTM as a terrain, select the Display Mode > As Terrain option from the layer context menu. In order to display this data as a flat map (texture) select Display Mode > As Texture.
You can use this functionality also for a WMS that does not come from the ERDAS APOLLO Catalog, and the items from ERDAS APOLLO that were not marked with the DTM keyword are known to be a DTM. In such a case, when you change the display style to As Terrain, you will have to confirm this operation on a message box that informs you that the selected item is not explicitly marked as a DTM.
