Searching for Geographical Objects in Consumer Portal Layout

The Consumer Portal Layout gives you the ability to search for geographical objects from defined search sources. Only the administrator can define the search sources that can be used. More than one search source can be connected to the Consumer Portal Layout.

In order to perform the search:

  1. Click the magnify glass button .The search field is shown .
  2. Start typing the name of an object(s) you are looking for.
  3. The list of objects that match your search criteria is shown, and pins showing the locations for all found objects are displayed on the map.

  4. Click on the selected entry, and the map view will be zoomed in to the selected object.

To obtain more information on found and selected object:

  1. Click on the pin for the selected object; the label with the object name appears.
  2. Click More info on the label.

  3. The sidebar is shown with additional information available for the selected object.

light_bulb_icon By having the More Info sidebar open and clicking the pins on the map, you can immediately see the information on the sidebar about the most recently clicked object.

You can invoke the More Info sidebar (if hidden) at any time by clicking the button. Information about the most recently clicked object will be shown.

In order to view/select/deselect the search source used in Consumer Portal Layout:

  1. Click the magnify glass button .The search field is shown .
  2. Click button. The Search sources dialog will be shown.
  3. Select the check box next to the search source you want to use in Consumer Portal Layout.
