Searching for Geographic Names

This section is valid for the following flavors: Geospatial Portal, GeoMedia WebMap Advantage, GeoMedia WebMap Professional.

Search geographic names lets you search geographic objects such as cities, regions, and points of interest. The search result lists objects in response to search criteria. You can see information and the location on the map window for every search result. Data is searched in the databases of connected WFS-G (Gazetteer) services.

You can also use search functionality in Geospatial Portal to search addresses from registered LUWS and/or OpenLS services.

You can search for geographic objects using capabilities available in the sidebar or by using the search tool called Live search, which is available on the toolbar.

This functionality by default is not available with the ERDAS APOLLO layout. If this functionality is required contact your Geospatial Administrator to modify the appropriate layout in the Administration Console.
