Printing Maps in Geospatial Portal

This feature is available only in 2D view mode.

This section is valid for the following product flavors: Geospatial Portal, GeoMedia WebMap Advantage, GeoMedia WebMap Professional, ERDAS Apollo Advantage, ERDAS Apollo Professional and GeoMedia WebMap Essentials.

Printing a map in Geospatial Portal can be performed with any of the connected print services. Due to the difference in the functionality of particular print services, each print service type can provide different parameters to be set on the Print Map dialog box. By default, Local Print Service is available within Geospatial Portal.

Geospatial Portal does not provide a mechanism for printing a hard copy, but printing to a file can be done. Printing to a file is similar to printing a hard copy, except that it generates a printer file instead of routing the document directly to a printer. This provides a method for generating soft-copy files that can be stored on disk and printed or plotted as necessary without having to be in the application to resubmit the plots.

In order to open Print Map dialog:

1. Select the Tools tab from the toolbar.
2. Click the Print Map icon .
